 Yurdagul Konuk, PhD

Born in Istanbul,  Konuk is a contemporary painter and narrative artist whose practice explores surfaces, liminality, memory, and the indeterminate dimensions of human experience.

Working across painting, literature, and philosophical inquiry, Konuk investigates the relationships between the visible and the invisible, individual and collective memory, and tradition and transformation. Her paintings approach the surface as a field of encounters, traces, interruptions, and emerging meanings, where human experience and cultural memory converge.

Her artistic practice extends across international exhibitions, art fairs, and collaborative projects. Her works have been exhibited in Türkiye, Germany, Austria, and the United States. In 2025, her work *The Veil* was presented at Monaco Art Fair. Her artistic achievements also include award-winning works.

Alongside her studio practice, Konuk engages in interdisciplinary research connecting art, philosophy, literature, cultural memory, and contemporary environmental concerns. Her research interests include the phenomenology of art, philosophy of visual art, and theological aesthetics.

Konuk is the founder of **Artic Phenomenology**, a disciplinary proposition emerging from her sustained artistic and philosophical investigations into experience and indeterminacy. Her work explores the relationships between artistic creation, perception, and the emergence of meaning.

As a published novelist and essayist, Konuk extends her artistic and philosophical inquiries into literature and critical writing. Across painting, research, and literary production, she investigates how images, narratives, and surfaces shape human experience and open new possibilities of interpretation.
